Introducing RegenFarm

We need growing nourishment to be viable in the future to secure a thriving planet. The days of taking from nature in our farming practices without giving anything back are behind us. Start your AR farm and learn about regenerative technologies and practices that help feed and restore our world.

Operate and interact with a small AR farm and make certain farming choices over the course of time. Observe in a sped up world how decisions in regenerative practices and technology support farming and impact our planet. Players use this simulated exploration platform to visualize benefits and consequences and get scored on performance/impact.

Purpose and Context:

At nearly eight billion people, the global population has put a lot of demands on the planet. Just producing enough food for everyone contributes between 19 and 29% of all greenhouse gas emissions. The enormous swathes of land required for traditional agriculture has been one of the main drivers of environmental degradation, habitat loss and the collapse of nature.

According to the Nature Conservancy, it takes 2,000 years for natural processes to turn bedrock into 10 centimeters of fertile soil. Unfortunately, around 24 billion tons of topsoil are lost every year due to agricultural and ecological causes of erosion. That translates to over 3 tons per person.

We must shift our paradigms, principles, and practices around farming. Nourish the soil, heal the planet: harness the power of regenerative agriculture to benefit both agricultural pursuits and the planet. Become a steward of your land and explore how your principles and practices have an enormous impact in the world.

About Regenerative Agriculture: Regenerative Agriculture Practices

As the Earth’s population rises and the need for sustainable food production continues to grow, farmers and policymakers are taking an increasing interest in regenerative agriculture as a positive, adaptable approach to sustainable farming.

Difference between conventional, regenerative, and organic farming types

Regenerative Organic Agriculture is important because sustaining current forms of agricultural practices is not enough to regenerate soils beyond their current condition.
